Acupuncture is a therapeutic method used by specially trained physiotherapists who have a Certificate from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada (CAFCI).
Acupuncture is used to naturally promote healing, relieve pain, and improve function of affected areas of the body by improving flow of Qi (pronounced Chee).
Acupuncture treatment involves the insertion of very fine single-use disposable needles through the skin and soft tissue at specific acupuncture points on the body. The needles are often left in for 10-15 minutes to have an optimal effect.
Our therapists primarily perform ‘Anatomical Acupuncture’ which is a more modern approach combining centuries old Chinese traditions and western medical knowledge to increase effectiveness. We also use dry needling techniques to stimulate release of spasm and trigger points thereby improving muscle function.
